Last night's debate was a clear win for Kerry. I'll be voting for Kerry in November and I'll work on his campaign in my small way by doing phone banking to Oregon. But mind you, I'll be holding my nose all of that time. Here's what journalist Greg Palast has to say: "(Kerry) could have won my vote with two words. It's the two-word answer John Kerry gave three decades ago when asked the same question -- "How can we get our troops out of a disastrous war?" Then, the clear-minded, tall young men said, "In ships."

A weekly newspaper that bills itself as President Bush's hometown paper endorsed John Kerry for president, saying the Massachusetts senator will restore American dignity.

Tax Breaks Target Big SUVs With the price of oil having peaked the other day over $50, I'm reminded that part of Bush's economic stimulus package of last year included tax breaks for purchasing SUV's. The bigger the better. Now isn't that special.

A bright side this morning. The NY Times reports that "A sweeping voter registration campaign in heavily Democratic areas has added tens of thousands of new voters to the rolls in the swing states of Ohio and Florida, a surge that has far exceeded the efforts of Republicans in both states, a review of registration data shows."

This young soldier, Army Specialist Colby Buzzell, who uses the alias CBFTW (Colby Buzzell Fuck This War) was getting 10,000 hits a day on his blog. He has links to many other blogs done by military personnel who are serving in Iraq.
