Locke, CA

Souvenier shop window. Locke was built by and for Chinese immigrants after a fire broke out in the Chinese section of nearby Walnut Grove in 1915. In its heyday, as many as 1500 people lived here. Today it is neither a tourist trap or ghost town, with about 80-90 people living here, about 10 of Chinese descent.
