How can we be so blind. It is unfathomable to me that so many Americans are willing to stand by George Bush, the most incompetent president we've had since Harding (said by Howard Dean to Teri Gross on Fresh Air the other day). They cheer him for a tax cut that went primarily to the rich, while the cost of living is rising dramatically almost on a daily basis. Then there is terrorism, which he claims to fight, while he is a direct cause of its escalation. Even the Saudi's are saying that it's the US which has escalated the rise of terrorism with the invasion of Iraq.

Lynne V. Cheney, wife of Vice President Cheney, accused John F. Kerry on Wednesday night of "a cheap and tawdry political trick" and said he "is not a good man" after he brought up their daughter's homosexuality at the final presidential debate.

Whereas, Steven Fisher, communications director of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay and lesbian political organization, said Kerry "was speaking to millions of American families who, like the Cheneys, have gay friends and family members."

By the way, It was reported in April of this year, by ABCNews that Lynne Cheney's 1981 racy novel, Sister's, a historical romance that includes brothels, attempted rapes and a lesbian love affair, will not be reprinted.

Sinclair Broadcast Group is reportedly going to use its television stations nationwide to air an anti-Kerry film shortly before the upcoming election. You can find a lot of information here.

You can sign a petition online, which will be presented to Sinclair, its advertisers, and the FCC.

There is still work to be done for this election. Be sure that you are registered to vote. Help others to register and to get them to the polls on election day. We can win around the country by doing whatever it is we're able to do.

America Coming Together (ACT) is creating the largest voter contact program in history. ACT is operating in 17 battleground states. Precinct-by-precinct, ACT canvassers are building ongoing relationships with targeted voters. Donate time or money or both.

Bush Can't Admit Mistakes, But We Can by Medea Benjamin. It seems amazing that Bush is still unable to admit to any mistakes.

I'm listening to Larry Bensky on KPFA as I quite often do on Sunday mornings. I've mentioned the program and the station before. Please listen to and support them. Their news is top notch, broadcast daily at 6:00 PM (Pacific Time).
